Nova loves life with David!

Nova loves life with David

“After losing my senior vizsla last winter, I was looking for another sporting dog. When my brother sent me a link to KAMO, I looked through the pictures and saw Nova. After meeting her, I knew she was the dog for me. Nova is a great fit here and she and my other lab Izzy are now friends. Nova’s favorite things are pickup rides, exploring the farm, napping in the house, playing fetch, and chew treats.” – David H.

Mark is living the dream with Doug

Mark and Doug are having a blast together!

In the Spring of 2025, Mark was fortunate enough to go home with his new owner, Doug Duren. In the short time they have been together, Mark has been making friends and influencing people already. Doug said it best when he said, “He’s doing great and he just seems to be the right dog for me.”

Doug started a great thing called Sharing the Land. Sharing the Land is a Conservation Cooperators Network connecting landowners with hunters and private land access seekers for the purpose of stewarding and enjoying healthier lands together.

Beckett

With the help of Volunteers, Beckett arrives at her new home in Texas!

On Saturday, April 10th, 2021, Beckett was taken by multiple volunteers from Tekamah, Nebraska all the way to Austin, Texas! We are overwhelmed by the support of our volunteers and thankful for Meagan Cook of Field to Family Dogs for her help in getting Beckett to her new home!

Beckett is shown in Austin, TX with her new FURever family.

Ruger has his new FURever Famliy!

Haley & Morgan love their new family member, Ruger!

Ruger and his FURever family

Goldie (now Ruger) was a KAMO dog! He’s had many places to live but never quite found a home until the Johnson family of Oakland talked to Haley about taking him in.

Haley and Morgan both grew up with dogs and have been missing them terribly since moving to the Oakland area December 2018. After meeting Golding, they knew he would be the perfect first dog. He was extremely friendly, very obedient and full of love. The name, however, didn’t quite work for them so they changed it to Ruger and he began picking it up fairly quickly as long as they put a command with it.

Morgan, who is a Natural Resources major and grew up bird hunting, has been testing Ruger’s skills and thinks they might have a shot at hunting this upcoming fall. Needless to say, he’s extremely excited!

They want to thank KAMO for the perfect addition to their family and are hoping they can get their cat to like him as much as they do!
