Duke is Adopted!

Duke is Adopted!

Duke's Adoption

At the end of November, one of Pheasant Bonanza’s most decorated Guide Dogs, Duke, went home to his FURever home near Omaha, Nebraska through a KAMO adoption. It was incredibly hard for Trent & Aaron to say goodbye but they knew he deserved to retire in such great fashion. Duke has guided with Trent for more than 8 seasons and he’s had well over 18,000 points and retrieves in his guiding career.
Duke’s image was engraved on a Franchi Shotgun, he’s been in Benelli’s marketing material, Stetson’s marketing material, he’s appeared in five outdoor magazines, been on four outdoor TV shows, and he’s the most well-known amongst the Pheasant Bonanza customers.

The moment Tom & Sally met Duke, they fell in love and knew he needed to live with them and join their family. Within a week of being adopted, they were able to get him altered as well as a midsection lump removal surgery.

Duke is doing extremely well and loving his retirement life. He has new fur siblings and a huge back yard to enjoy.

Duke will always be remember at Pheasant Bonanza as one of the greatest guide dogs they ever had.

Gauge had eye surgery!

Gauge had eye surgery!

Gauge was adopted in February 2021. He had been diagnosed with cataracts and near blind. He had his eye surgery a couple months ago!

“It’s been a couple of months since Gauge’s eye surgery. He had his cataracts  removed and one lens put in. His other eye was smaller and out of round  and the vet did not want to take the  chance of  it falling off. He seems very happy to see  better now and he can catch the tennis ball with his mouth. He likes to show his affection and stays pretty close to me during the day. I can finally  start to work with him on bird retrieving.
For some reason I can’t get him  to shake. He looks at me like he says, ‘I hate school.’ ”

Ruger has his new FURever Famliy!

Haley & Morgan love their new family member, Ruger!

Ruger and his FURever family

Goldie (now Ruger) was a KAMO dog! He’s had many places to live but never quite found a home until the Johnson family of Oakland talked to Haley about taking him in.

Haley and Morgan both grew up with dogs and have been missing them terribly since moving to the Oakland area December 2018. After meeting Golding, they knew he would be the perfect first dog. He was extremely friendly, very obedient and full of love. The name, however, didn’t quite work for them so they changed it to Ruger and he began picking it up fairly quickly as long as they put a command with it.

Morgan, who is a Natural Resources major and grew up bird hunting, has been testing Ruger’s skills and thinks they might have a shot at hunting this upcoming fall. Needless to say, he’s extremely excited!

They want to thank KAMO for the perfect addition to their family and are hoping they can get their cat to like him as much as they do!
