Gauge was adopted in February 2021. He had been diagnosed with cataracts and near blind. He had his eye surgery a couple months ago!
“It’s been a couple of months since Gauge’s eye surgery. He had his cataracts removed and one lens put in. His other eye was smaller and out of round and the vet did not want to take the chance of it falling off. He seems very happy to see better now and he can catch the tennis ball with his mouth. He likes to show his affection and stays pretty close to me during the day. I can finally start to work with him on bird retrieving. For some reason I can’t get him to shake. He looks at me like he says, ‘I hate school.’ ”
